Mourners commemorate Imam El-Baqir's (Peace Be Upon Him) martyrdom anniversary
Wednesday the 29th of August 2017, the holy city of Kerbela witnessed groups of mourners going around the Imam Hussein and the El-Abbas Holy Shrines, carrying a symbolic coffin on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Mohammed El-Baqir (Peace Be Upon Him).
Imam El-Baqir (Peace Be Upon Him) is the fifth Imam of the Ahlul-Bayet (Peace Be Upon Them). During his time, he was hampered by Umayyad; so-called Caliphate, especially Hisham, son of Abdul-Melik, who was one of the rulers of Umayyad.
The mourners finished their rituals at the Imam Hussein Shrine where they listened to a lecture on the Imam’s life, which is full of wisdom and supreme humanitarian principles.
